[mood | disappointed]

Early this evening I received a message telling me that Square 11 won't be open tonight.
The club was sold sometime over the weekend.

So now the future of the night hangs in the balance.
Unless either the new owners want to take us back,
or we can find another venue, the night will come to an end.

Well, I stuck at it.
I didn't quit, despite a few close calls.
The decision was made for me.

I'd already planned to be out tonight, so I headed down Yates's to see the bands.
Headed up to the Racehorse for a drink, after Yates's closed.
Both myself and Mike were all fidgety, as we'd normally be playing at that time.

: : update : : [Aug. 5th, 2006|07:44 pm]
[mood | calm]

Monday night I made the decision to close the metal room of The Trauma Unit until Uni starts up again.
The turnout has just been too poor since Uni finished.
Alongside that, we need a permanent DJ to do either the first bit downstairs or upstairs.
With both those issues, it just made sense.
Instead, I will do the first half of the night downstairs.

Sleep this week has been somewhat lacking.
I've just not been getting tired. Or when I have, its been a few hours before I have to go somewhere.
I've been having less and less sleep all week, mostly in the form of catnaps.
After my catnap on Thursday, I didn't manage to get to sleep again until about 7am today, and then I woke up, wide-awake, 6 hours later.

Um, that's all there is to say. Pretty boring really.

Yeah, I've changed the '7 Songs' thing. Deal with it.

List ten songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words,
or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now.
Post these instructions in your live-journal along with your 10 songs.

1. Nine Inch Nails - We're In This Together
2. Motorcity Daredevils - Down By The River
3. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
4. Therapy? - Diane
5. Paul Oakenfold - Aeternal (Requiem For A Dream Remixed)

8. ZZ Top - She's Just Killing Me

: : Inside the Room of Your Soul : : [Jul. 7th, 2006|03:31 pm]
[mood | contemplative]

What Your Soul Really Looks Like

You are very passionate and quite temperamental. While you can be moody, you always crave comfort.

You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you're head is in the clouds.

You believe that people see you as larger than life and important. While this is true, they also think you're a bit full of yourself.

Your near future is still unknown, and a little scary. You'll get through wild times - and you'll textually enjoy it.

For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn't fall in love with someone you didn't trust.

: : solitary confinement : : [May. 26th, 2006|10:21 pm]
[mood | restless]
[music |Everlast - 'Whitey Ford Sings The Blues']

Solitary confinement is slowly killing me.
I can only afford to go out on Saturday nights,
so bar Monday nights, I barely see a living soul all week.
So Saturday nights now consist of being overwhelmed by people,
and me hardly saying a word all night.
Still, it beats staying in and going stir crazy.

Speaking of which, I stopped taking my meds about 2 months ago.
I was having trouble getting my brand anyhow,
that being the brand that actually worked.
Instead I've been palmed off with inferior brands from abroad
that just seemed to tranquilize me.
So, last time I tried to get them, and got told I couldn't have them,
I just quit.
Cold turkey.
I don't think I'm ready to come off them yet,
but I'm staying off and fuck the consequences.
The next eight weeks were a nice (sarcasm) dizzy, disorientated haze.

Now the tranquilizer parts have worn off, this past week,
I've barely slept for more than two hours each day, if at all.
My mind won't let me rest.
My body keeps trying to sleep but my mind just interrupts it.
More time for my mind to think and dwell on issues, which is never good.
I am updating here though, so there's something.

[music |Lords Of Acid - Out Comes The Evil]

Tonight was really fuckin' weird for me tonight.
I've been stuck at home by myself all week, due to a dead car battery, so tonight was like a return to civilisation en mass from hermitworld.
I bet I didn't say more than 100 words all night.

Ha. I've just received, through the post,
an invitation to a business solutions web collaboration seminar in London next week.

It was addressed to Butterscotch Hedgehogcar (my old email address)

I want to go, just so they have to give me an I.D. badge with Butterscotch Hedgehogcar on it!

: : Anthrax : : [Apr. 12th, 2006|01:38 am]
[mood | ecstatic]

I just had another of the greatest nights of my life.

Once again, it has been reaffirmed that Anthrax are my favourite band of all time!

I first heard them 18 or 19 years ago, then first saw them live 17 years go, supporting Iron Maiden.
I last saw them live 2 years ago,
about 2 weeks before I saw Public Enemy live again. (My 2nd favourite band of all time.)
Tonight, I got to see them live, yet again.
Still, they are my favourite band EVER!

King Size Blues opened up,
Beyond Fear were the main support,
then Anthrax demolished the night.

Many, many thanks to [info]jame0 for driving.
You are an absolute star!

Saturday night was awesome.
Went to Rock City to see Murder One, Skindred, and Pitchshifter.
Stayed at the club until it shut (about 4am).
Was mostly in Disco 2, as the music was better.
Then went back to Caz's house with Jemma for a bit,
before driving home as the sun came up.

[mood | aggravated]

Had a bit of a car accident on the way home today.
It was less than 200 yards from my fucking house, for fuck sake.
A guy coming the other way, came over the middle of the road and slammed side mirrors with me.
Mine shattered my driver's side window, showering me in glass.
The mirror itself landed on the fucking passenger seat.
He won't accept blame though, and there weren't any witnesses. Cunt!
Got to sort that mess out tomorrow.
Gonna end up costing me plenty, I just know it.
